In June, AIDN and a group of Australian funder friends alongside Segal Family Foundation and Impact Hub Harare co-sponsored the “Zimbabwe Partner and Donor Showcasing and Networking Event”.
Held at Impact Hub Harare in Zimbabwe, this event brought together doers and donors to a space curated for honest conversations rather than traditional presentations.
The purpose of the event was to provide meaningful opportunities for donors, partners, entrepreneurs, and ecosystem actors to build relationships, share honest experiences, learn from one another, explore collaboration opportunities and commit to future action.
Stories from the field included from Chandirekera Mutubuki-Makuyana, a board member and founder of Ayandile Knowledge Hub, who shared “Inspiring Stories While We Learn.” Her light talk focused on solar energy, sparking discussions on sustainable energy solutions and their impact on communities.
We also heard from Patrick Gwaza who shed light on what funders can do to create greater impact, highlighting the importance of strategic investments and long-term support for entrepreneurs and community-driven initiatives.
Through this event, AIDN is exploring the role we can play in more giving, better giving and ecosystem building overseas.
