You’re invited to join the Australian International Development Network and Myriad Australia on our Inaugural Southeast Asian Insight Tour to Cambodia in February 2025. The purpose of the tour is to give funders an in-depth insight into the work of a variety of NGOs working in Southeast Asia in different sectors, and their operating context, with a particular focus on locally-led organisations.

Tuesday 18 February Phnom Penh, Cambodia Arrival day.
Evening drinks and supper depending on your arrival time.
1 Wednesday 19 February Phnom Penh

Begin the day with a group breakfast at the hotel, joined by a guest speaker who will give context to Cambodia’s political, economic and social landscape.

Site visit to Cambodia Children’s Fund.
After lunch, you will have the option to visit the Genocide Museum. 
In the evening, you’ll be joined by NGO leaders who are based in Phnom Penh. 
2 Thursday 20 February Phnom Penh > Sihanoukville
Site visit to Teach for Cambodia followed by one more site visit afterwards (to be confirmed). 
In the afternoon, travel from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville, arriving by early evening.
Take a drive around Sihanoukville before gathering for a group dinner and discussion.
3 Friday 21 February Sihanoukville > Phnom Penh

Site visit and lunch at M’Lop Tapang.

Drive to Phnon Penh (2 hr / 30 min).

Group dinner.

4 Saturday 22 February Phnom Penh > Kratie

Early AM drive to Kratie Site visit to Chenla Children’s Hospital.

Group dinner.

5 Sunday 23 February Kratie > Siem Reap

Travel from Kratie to Siem Reap (6 hours) stopping along the way for lunch and visit to silk farm.

Dinner with NGO leaders.

6 Monday 24 February Siem Reap

Site visits will include: Child’s Dream, Cambodia School Learning Gardens, Angkor Hospital for Children and See Beyond Borders.

Early visit to Phare Circus (1hour) and then group only dinner

7 Tuesday 25 February Siem Reap > Battambang > Siem Reap

Travel from Siem Reap to Battambang in the morning and visit Cambodia Children’s Trust followed by lunch.

Return to Siem Reap in the afternoon to visit PEPY Empowering Youth.

Final group dinner.

Wednesday 26 February Siem Reap

Begin the day with an early visit to the famous Angkor Wat Temples.

The rest of the day is open for personal exploration. Guests can choose to explore more of Cambodia, or other areas of Southeast Asia or return home.

Costs:

Logistics for the tour are being generously organised by Intrepid Travel at cost price. Indicative costs are US$2500 – $3500 per person. This will be confirmed over the coming months depending on final numbers.

Cost will include:

  • Road transfers
  • Accommodation at 3 or 4 star hotels (unless specified otherwise)
  • Breakfast, lunch & dinner each day (unless specified otherwise)
  • Site visits as detailed in the itinerary
  • Tips for drivers and guides

Costs will exclude:

  • Any international flights
  • Visas
  • Travel insurance
  • Tips for hotel staff (we suggest approximately USD3-USD5 per clean up per room)
  • Entry to any cultural or tourist activities unless indicated
